Itinerary
Our tour
takes us from the city highways to the Belgrave village shopping strip where you will see everywhere murals of the trades gone-by.
We arrive at Belgrave Station, home base for the Puffing
Billy Steam railway where we board the historic steam train - Puffing Billy – a major tourist attraction. Take in the panoramic views which pass by your carriage window as the train travels
through the forests of the magnificent Dandenong Ranges to Menzies Creek.
Be amazed at the 100 metres tall and 500 years old Mountain Ash trees, and fern gullies of the Sherbrooke Forest,
habitat for the superb lyrebird, ring-tailed and brush-tailed possums. You may be lucky to also sight koalas, lyrebirds, galahs, ring-tailed and brush-tailed possums, crimson rosellas,
kookaburras, cicadas, blue wrens, echidnas, platypus and the blue wren.
The journey continues to provide panoramic views over farmlands, Port Phillip Bay, the Cardinia Reservoir and the
Yarra Valley wine region.
You alight at Menzies Creek where you will be met by your friendly driver guide who will direct you to your coach waiting for you.
The next stop is for
lunch at Fergusson's Winery & Restaurant situated in the lush Yarra Valley wine district. Here you will taste some stunning local wines and then sit down to enjoy a sumptuous and hearty
spit-roast lunch with a glass of wine in a warm and rustic atmosphere of the Restaurant.
After lunch, we take you to the Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary when you can view close-up
200 species of native wildlife and Australia's most unusual animals (koalas, kangaroos, wombats and many others), birds, and reptiles. You will enjoy an informative ranger-guided tour.
