Itinerary We meet you at
the cruise ship port gates 30 minutes after the ships arrival and then depart for Mt Wellington (1270 m) for stunning views over southern Tasmania (weather dependent).
Then we continue
along the Huon Trail for a day of exploring fine food and wine. First stop is the Grandvewe Sheep Cheesery to discover how our local organic sheep milk cheeses are made. This family run
business produces wonderful hard and soft cheeses rivaling the Italian Pecorino cheese. Or dip into the Pinot Noir fruit paste, a perfect accompaniment to your cheese.
This is followed by
a visit to a hand weaving studio where woolen, tapestries and silk wraps and scarves are woven by local weaver Anna Maria Magnus.
Next a delicious Tasmanian lunch is served at the
Hartzview vineyard with its spectacular mountain views. Explore the local fruit wines and liqueurs and see some of Tasmania's traditional soft fruit picking huts where itinerant families once
lived during the fruit harvest.
We then continue via Cygnet to Huonville for a short walk through the local rain forest and complete the afternoon with a wine tasting at Home Hill Winery
before a pleasant drive back to the cruise ship. Note: We can also operate this tour for 2 persons at $760.00pp or 3 persons at $585.00pp. For groups of 10 or more the rate is $289.00pp. |
